“Roncato Gallery” is the name of the collection of paintings that Arnaldo Gamba has created for Roncato.
The fundamental, original feature of these works is the combination of a cast aluminium bas-relief and a traditionally square shaped painted canvas.
The aluminium structure, apparently detached from the chromatic material in which it is set, on the contrary establishes with it a metaphorical relationship of cause and effect: it is in fact the chromatic material, evoking the geological process of the casting of materials, that in the aluminium bas-relief generates and defines the idea in its completed form.
The relationship is often dramatic and violent, reflecting the volcanic world of magmatic substances that, after cooling down, become static and frozen in their gleaming preciousness.
The physical-natural evolution of casting interacts evasively with the artist’s creative evolution: the “natural phenomenon” seems to rise to a mainly creative subject and the artist to limit himself to being a simple social tool.
A sense of mystery emanates from it, in which there appear symbols, metaphors, lyrical pulses or anxious tension, but ever present is a vision creating an image of great decorative effect..
